Tom Breiding was the 2022 Hazel Dickens Art-Maker Award Recipient from the WV Mine Wars Museum. His Unbroken Circle: Songs of the West Virginia Coalfields spent 15 weeks in the top 100 of the Americana charts and brought a voice to union coal miners and their families to a national audience. He is currently a “musician in residence” for the United Mine Workers Union, Immersion Trip Coordinator and Director of Wheeling University’s Appalachian Institute, former teaching artist at Gateway to the Arts, Pennsylvania Humanities Commonwealth Speaker, and former staff writer at Collins Music, Corp., Music Row, Nashville.
